Privacy notice
This notice explains what personal information CertBack handles, why, and what rights you have. CertBack is a trading name of Joe Blakeley Electrical Services, 23 The Grove, Linton, Cambridge CB21 4UQ. We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office under reference [number]. Two kinds of personal information
Our customers' information. Electricians and electrical contractors who order from us. For this we are the data controller.
Their clients' information. The names, addresses and contact details of the people whose installations our customers inspect, which appear in the certificates we prepare. For this our customer is the data controller and we are their processor, acting only on their instructions.
What we collect about customers, and why

Your clients' information
We process it only to prepare and deliver the documents you ordered. We never contact your clients, never send them documents and never use their details for anything else. You confirm, by ordering, that you have the right to share it with us (see clause 3.4 of our terms).
Who we share information with
Only the providers we use to run the service, each under their own data protection terms: cloud file storage (Dropbox), messaging (WhatsApp Business and email), payment processing (card payments through our payment provider), and AI-assisted document preparation software used to type up the documents from your voice notes and photos. Some of these providers store data outside the UK under recognised safeguards. We do not sell or rent personal information to anyone.
How long we keep it
- Orders and the documents we prepare: 12 months after delivery, then deleted, unless you ask in writing for longer or sooner.
- Your profile: for as long as you are a customer, then 12 months.
- Order register and invoices: six years, as HMRC requires.
- Messages: deleted with the order they belong to.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to or restrict how we use it, and withdraw any consent you have given. Email orders@certback.co.uk and we will respond within one month. If you are not happy with how we handle your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
For your clients' information, the request goes to you as the controller; we will help you meet it within the timescales the law sets.
This website
This site is a set of static pages. It sets no cookies of its own and runs no analytics. Fonts are served from the site itself, so no third-party font service is called; the site is hosted on GitHub Pages, whose logs record visitor IP addresses for security. Links to WhatsApp and email open those services under their own privacy terms.
Changes
We will publish any changes to this notice on this page with a new version number and date.
